Laura Myrtle Adkins

Laura Myrtle Adkins, age 94 of Fultondale (Coalburg), passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016.  Mrs. Adkins and her husband, the late Emmett W. Adkins, help founded Coalburg Independent Baptist Church.  She was well known and loved by the entire Coalburg community.
She is survived by her 5 children, Jimmy Ray Adkins (Lorna), Pat Rhodes (Ron), Frankie Adkins, Ronnie Joe Adkins (Janet), and Shirley Kelley (Harry); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Rhodes officiating.  Interment will follow at Walker Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m until service time at the funeral home.  Arrangements are by Walker Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 205-849-5000, Fultondale.
