Shirley Williams

Shirley Williams, age 68, passed away on Thursday December 12, 2019.  She was born on November 2, 1951 at the military hospital in Ft. Benning Georgia.  She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1974 and married Larry Joe Williams in Gadsden on December 19, 1974.  They soon moved to Birmingham.  Shirley was a homemaker and also a Girl Scout Leader for many young girls.  She loved going shopping and being with her family.  Shirley had a special place in her heart for her animals and treated them like her children.  Her kindness was well known.  She would help those in need and give anything she had to help.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Joe Williams; she was a loving mother to her children, Pamela Cooley and Patricia Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Fred Jemison officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Shirley will be laid to rest at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are by Walker Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 205-849-5000, Fultondale.
