Darrell Hubbert “Big Hubb” was called home to be with the Lord on Good Friday, April 15, 2022 at age 60. He is survived by three daughters, Shea Anderson, Chaney Foote (Tim) and Katie Hubbert; grandchildren, Zoe Rain Anderson (Isaac Martin), Sky Anderson, Jaycie Hubbert, Makenna Foote, and Malakai Foote; two great grandchildren, Kolten Martin and Sagelee Martin; one sister, Kim Powell (Jeff); nephew, Garren Hubbert (Sabrina); nieces, Taylor Powell, Brandi Berryhill, and Destiny Berryhill; one aunt, JoAnn Gann (Scott); one uncle, Mike Stewart; and many cousins, other extended family and a host of friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Earline Hubbert; two brothers, Tim and DeWayne Hubbert; uncle, Jerry Cone (Mary); and aunt, Faye Stewart. Darrell was a 1980 graduate of Fultondale High School where he played football (#63) and baseball. He retired from Liberty National Life Insurance after 25 years of service. He served on Fultondale City Council for 20 years. He was a member of Hewitt North Birmingham Masonic Lodge. Darrell was a devoted Christian and loved his Savior. In the last 2 years of his life, his faith became most important to him and he began to speak at different churches and events in his community about his faith. He loved his family more than anything. There are not enough words to sum up a man like Darrell. He will be truly missed by so many. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Fultondale First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
