Alfred Vann Gilley, Jr.

Alfred Vann Gilley, Jr., age 69, of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018.  Mr. Gilley enjoyed playing the lottery, talking, spending time with his only grandchild and reading the novels by J.R.R. Tolkien.  He served in the United States Army.    Mr. Gilley was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Vann Gilley, Sr. and Margaret Harris Gilley;  2 sisters, Betty JoAnn Henson and Patricia Faye Lee and a brother, Bobby Lynn Gilley.  He is survived by his daughters, Angelica Sprunger and Lesley Whitfield; grandson, Isaac Elliott Sprunger; sister, Brenda Joyce Lesley and brother, Benny Charles Gilley.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Walker Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 12:30PM until 2:00PM at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  Walker Chapel Funeral Home directing.
