Winfred E. Smith

Winfred E. Smith, age 74, passed away on Friday October 25, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Myrtle Smith; brothers, Carl, Aaron, and Johnny Smith; and by a sister, Virginia.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a jack of all trades, always working with his hands.  He was a longtime employee of Davis Machine and Fabrication in Calera.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 42 years, Margaret Smith; children, Kristi Mitchell (Michael) and Marc Culver (Tracy); granddaughters, Madison, Savanna, Maggie and Karoline; sister, Martha Ann Geesling (Bobby); brother, Clifton Smith (Martha); he is also survived by many other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday October 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chip Coleman officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.  He will be laid to rest at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are by Walker Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 205-849-5000, Fultondale.
