William Owen

William Owen, age 84 of Fultondale, passed away on Friday December 25, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beatrice Owen; sisters, Marie Brown, Ruby Hendon, Mildred Fry, Louise Manning and Melba Richards.  He was a member of Abundant Life Christian Center (7 Mile Ministry).  He served our country in the U.S. Airforce.  He taught metallurgical engineering at the University of Alabama, labor relations at UAB and was the manager of technical services for U.S. Pipe.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Polk Owen; daughter, Debbie Owen Munson (Gene); sons, Mark Owen (Cindy), Chip Owen (Cayce); grandchildren, Nathan Munson, Matt Munson, Sean Owen, Chris Owen, Kasey Owen, Max Owen and Mari Kate Owen; great-grandchildren, Joshua Munson, Jacob Munson, Shiloh Munson, Liam Owen and Ceci Owen.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens with Josh Nations officiating.  There will be no visitation.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the University of Alabama Alumni Association or to the engineering department at the University of Alabama.  Arrangements are by Walker Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 205-849-5000, Fultondale.
