William Ronnie “Billy” Foster, age 55, of Homewood, Alabama, passed away on January 27, 2026. Born on December 3, 1970, to William and Rebecca Foster, Billy lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a genuine love for people. He never met a stranger, and his warm, friendly spirit made everyone feel welcome.
For 32 years, Billy was devoted to his wife, Cindy Foster. Their marriage was built on steadfast love, shared laughter, and a partnership that carried them through every season of life.
Billy is survived by his parents, William and Rebecca Foster; his wife, Cindy Foster; his sister, Lynette Guthrie; his daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Wynn, Stevie Carpenter, and Sara Carpenter; his daughter-in-law, Kemberly Varner; and his grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as “Pop” : William “Silas” Wynn, Kadence Wynn, Braxton Wynn, Brooke Hayes, Ethan Varner, Natalie Varner, Eli Varner, Christopher Cleveland, Capri Cleveland, Cali Cleveland, and Aiden Carpenter. He is also survived by his niece, Sydney Waldrep; his great-niece, Ryleigh Blackwell; and his great-nephew, Conner Blackwell.
In addition, Billy leaves behind his loyal 12-year-old four-legged best friend—his “child,” Diamond—who remained faithfully by his side through every chapter of life.
Billy was preceded in death by his beloved son, Joseph Scott Varner; his grandparents, Homer and Obera Meigs and Revis and Lola Foster; his uncles, Tommy Meigs, Tek Meigs, Gerald Foster, and Edward Foster; and his aunts, Helen Goodwin and Evelyn Odell.
Billy loved motorcycles, fishing, and helping others anytime they needed a hand. He especially enjoyed playing poker and loved the competition, laughter, and friendships it brought. Happy, friendly, and deeply caring, he was truly loved by all who knew him.
His faith guided his life as a devoted Christian and a member of Walker Chapel Baptist Church. He proudly served as a Mason with Gardendale Masonic Lodge No. 907 and cherished his brotherhood with Unaltered M.C.
For 16 years, Billy was a valued employee of Samford University, respected for his dedication, integrity, and kindness.
Known best as “Billy,” but forever “Pop” and “Pawnee” to those who loved him most, he will be remembered for his bright spirit, generous heart, and the way he made every person feel seen and valued. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. chapel service at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Village Falls Cemetery.
