Wayne Owen Smith

Wayne O. Smith passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at age 83.  He survived by his only son, Randal Smith; three brothers-in-law, Alton Padgett, Lamar Chatham, and John C. (Nancy) Goolsby; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Smith; parents, Louise and Beauford Smith; brother, Rocky Smith and sisters, Yvonne Smith and Sylvia Chatham.  Wayne was a proud veteran of the US Navy.  He owned the Fultondale Jet Pep/Exxon with his wife Patricia for many years. He retired from Birmingham Budweiser and went on to work for USPS after his retirement.  Wayne has missed his wife, Patt, terribly since her passing in 2018 and although he will be missed terribly by those who love him, we take great comfort in knowing they have now been reunited in Heaven based on the assurance we have in Jesus Christ.  Visitation will be Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be at Oakwood Memorial Gardens at 12:30 p.m.
