Thomas H. Penny

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas H. Penny, age 84, of Morris, will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Nellon Smith officiating and music provided by Karen Taylor and Mike and Kathy McDermott. Burial will follow in Walker Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service.

Mr. Penny passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gladys Faye Penny; daughter, Rhonda Faye Light; son, Thomas Jason Penny (Auderia); grandchildren, Marcus Dylan Light, Savannah Ruth Light, Kami Ann Eaton, Tyler Jake Penny, and Devan Willis; great-grandchildren, Mark Bentley Cole, Silas Dewayne Cole, Hadley Eaton, and Lewellyn Brit Willis, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Mary Penny; and siblings, Phillip, Norval, and Margaret, as well as many in-laws.

Mr. Penny was a member of several Churches of God over the years, with his latest membership being at the Pleasant Grove Church of God. He was a coin collector and avid baseball card collector. He enjoyed working out in the yard and watching sports, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. He will be deeply missed.
