Sylvia Kelley Ivey

Sylvia Kelley Ivey, 80, of Jacksonville, went home to be with The Lord on December 29, 2020. She was a kind and loving person to all who knew her. Mrs. Ivey was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on October 2, 1940, retired from The State of Alabama having served as a Driver’s License Examiner and has lived in Jacksonville since 2003 where she was a faithful member of West Jacksonville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Ivey and his son. James Ivey; her mother, Florence Coleman and 2 brothers, Earl & Clark Coleman. 
Survivors include her children, Pam Sidnam, Joy “Dadaw” Mullins, Rodney Kelley and his wife, Joy, Serena Martin and Jennefer Watson and her husband, Zach; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; her brother, Philip Coleman and his wife, Sharon; 2 sisters, Margaret Smith and Carol Thornell and her husband, Phillip along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with many additional children and grandchildren from her husband, Earl’s family along with many other family and friends. She held a special place in her heart for a group of “adopted family” who were just like family. 
There will be a funeral service held at 11 AM Monday, January 4, 2021 on the grounds of West Jacksonville Baptist Church, 5634 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville with her son, Pastor Rodney Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service. There will be another service at 11 AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Walker Chapel Funeral Home, 1200 Ellard Road, Fultondale, Alabama followed by interment with her beloved husband, Earl at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to that service as well.
