Sheila Lynne Hays

Sheila Lynne Hays was the youngest of the five children of Samuel and Marie Hays, growing up in Fultondale and Morris, settling close to home in Gardendale.  Sheila left this world on Monday December 30, 2019 at the age of 61 after a hard-fought struggle with cancer.  She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Womack; grandchildren, Brilynne and Braxton; mother, Berthie Marie Hays of Morris; sisters, Brenda Hays of Marietta Georgia, Robin Haynes (Bill) of Mt. Olive; brother, Steve Hays of Hokes Bluff and was the beloved aunt to seven nephews and their families.

Sheila was predeceased by her father, Samuel Ethridge Hays and her brother, Ronald Eugene Hays.  Sheila had a smile and laughter that was charming to all who had the pleasure of getting to know her.  Her memory will be cherished.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday January 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hays officiating.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Hays Cemetery in Hayden.  Arrangements are by Walker Chapel Funeral Home, 205-849-5000, Fultondale.
