Samuel Lee Bevis, age 62, passed away after a life well lived. He lost his battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, on October 30, 2022. Sam had an easy going spirit that was contagious to others. He lived life to the fullest by enjoying the simple pleasures such as celebrating with family, friends, food, music, and good times. He was a graduate of Fultondale High School, class of 1978. He was a member and active volunteer with the Sons of the American Leigion, Post 255, for many years. He leaves behind his beautiful, loving wife of 40 years, Amy Sanders Bevis & daughters, Rachel (Jonathan) Skeen & Hannah Bevis, along with 5 grandchildren, Lilly Anna, Samuel Waylon, & Maggie Rue Ellis, and Jonathan Porter & Holden Knox Skeen. He is also survived by his father Roy Bevis, brother Donny (Lee) Bevis, sister Connie (Ronnie) Palacios, sister-in-law Yvonne Bevis, and many nieces, nephews, loving family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bevis and his brother, John Barry Bevis. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home followed by a private family celebration of life. Everyone that enjoyed his company over the years is welcome to come visit with the family.
