Sam Benny Morrow passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the age of 86. He is survived by five children; Tiara Yahn (Brian), Michael Morrow (Michelle), Lydia Preston, Cathy Abbott, and Rese Ziulkowski (Donna Ponder); thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Cassie Louise Morrow; daughter, Leslie Ruth Morrow Bowman; grandson, Nathan Reese Horton; his parents William and Rose Marrow; and ten siblings.
Sam proudly served in the US Air Force. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of service in which he became a highly decorated C-130 instructor flight engineer with three tours in Vietnam. His legacy of service carried down through his son and two grandsons. After retirement, Sam had many hobbies which included working in the tool department of Sears where his family suspected it was for the employee discount and to control his Craftsman tool addiction. In short, he became the Craftsman man!! He was a prankster, he loved gardening, and loved
working on cars. He was a coin collector and loved going to coin shows with his family.
Sam was a two-time cancer survivor. He served his country honorably, loved his family dearly and their lives will never be the same without him. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
