Rodger Dale Jones

Rodger Dale Jones, 73 of Brookside passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving overseas in the Vietnam War and received several prestigious medals for his Service.  He was a lifelong coal miner in the Oak Grove Coal Mines.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Edith Jones; his older brother, Gene Jones and his baby sister, Lynn Green.   He is survived by his wife, Judith; his children Rodger Dale Jones (Jeri), Maria Stone (Adam) Amanda Cannon (Hank) and Derrick Love (Larissa); and his grandchildren Tyler, Ivy, Ryan, Destiny, Caroline, Evie, Alissa, Ashlyn, Aiden, Karin, and Adalyn; great granddaughter, Eleana.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15 p.m.
