Ricki Jean (Clevenger) Smith

Ricki Jean Smith, age 74, of Fultondale, AL died peacefully in her sleep on November 7, 2023. Ricki, affectionately known as ReRee by her grandchildren and all their friends, retired from Jefferson County Board of Education after over 25 years. She worked in the lunchroom at Fultondale Elementary School during her tenure. She loved Jack's and her sausage biscuit and Diet Coke. She also loved road trips where she had a lot of fun in recent years. Most of all, she loved her family and her grandchildren were very important to her. Ricki was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, David Smith; parents, Thomas and Ruth Clevenger; a grandson, Zachary Smith; a brother, Thomas, Jr. and a sister, Sandra. She is survived by her two sons, William (Tiffany) Smith and Todd (Traci) Smith; daughter, Karri Hensley; ten grandchildren; sister, Debbie Hallman; one brother, Greg Clevenger; loving friend, Raymond Ruple; and other extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. Ricki will be buried at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL with her husband.
