Rebecca Ann (Cummings) Abbruzzo

Rebecca "Becky" Ann Cummings, and her twin Robert "Bob" Cummings, were born in Philly Pond, Alabama to Imogene and Virgil Cummings on January 17th, 1954. She attended Banks High School and Jackson State University, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in Education. Alabama wasn't her only home, with time spent in Colorado and Virginia, but she eventually returned and settled into a position at Alabama Power. In 2007, she married Frank "Joe" Abbruzzo. She would later retire after 31 years as a well respected colleague of her peers. On July 7th, 2024, she passed in the comfort of her own home. Her legacy will forever detail a hard working, animal loving woman who cared deeply for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Imogene Cummings and Virgil Cummings; her husband, Frank "Joe" Abbruzzo; one sister, Judy Cummings; and two step-sons, Heath Abbruzzo and Brad Abbruzzo.

She is survived by her two daughters, Lindsey Harrison and Shannon Heptinstall; step-daughter, Brooke Abbruzzo; two grand-children, Jackie Harrison and Jada Harrison; two brothers, Robert Cummings and Larry Cummings; one sister, Carol Cummings; one niece, Merideth Cummings; one nephew, Tyler Cummings; and a host of close friends, colleagues, neighbors, and others.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home in Fultondale, AL.
