Peggy Leigh Blake

Peggy Blake went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at age 72.  She is preceded in death, parents, John and Donna Blake; and her sister, Pamela Hashemi.  She is survived by two nephews, John Hashemi (Debra) and Paul Hashemi (Sarah); three great nieces, Abby Hashemi,  Evie Hashemi, and Sydney Hashemi-Nance (Tery) with her daughter Mia as a great great niece; special friend and caregiver of 30 years, Sue Russell; friend, Teresa Sanders; and a host of other friends and family whom she loved dearly.  Peggy proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force.  She retired from the Alabama Department of Corrections after 25 years.  She taught criminal justice at Virginia College for a number of years, as well.  Peggy loved her church, Gardendale First Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the choir.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Gardendale First Baptist Church North Campus on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. Peggy will be buried in Hughes Cemetery, Forrest City, AR.
