Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ received Patsy Crane Thomas, of Kimberly, Alabama, into her
heavenly home on Sunday morning, August 20, 2023. She joins her husband, Clifford “Sonny”
Thomas who preceded her in 2016. They enjoyed 60 years together both working continuously
to provide for their four children as well as their extended family. They both also served as
caregivers for their parents and other family members. After working outside the home for over
30 years at a local steel fabricating plant, Patsy joined her husband in retirement in 1998. They
spent many happy years retired together and enjoyed gardening, home remodeling, traveling,
involvement in church and community activities, but most of all, enjoying their grandchildren.
Patsy loved spending time with family members and good friends, especially during holiday
seasons. She will be fondly remembered as a fun-loving, happy, and devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother.
Most importantly, she was a life-long follower of Jesus Christ. For over fifty years she served as
an active member of Kimberly Church of God where she taught Sunday School, led Children’s
Church ministry, supported youth and teen activities, worked on Ladies Ministry projects, and
spearheaded the senior adult Young at Heart programs and fellowship. In her later years, she
enjoyed attending church services and other events at Gardendale First Baptist Church.
A brief service will be Friday, August 25, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. It will conclude at Morris Cemetery.
