Oliver Thomas Hardy, age 77, of Remlap, AL passed away Monday, September 27, 2021 at his loving home with all of his family gathered around him. He was the husband to Cynthea Dianne Hardy. They shared a long, loving fifty-two years together.
Born in Montgomery Alabama on August 23, 1944, he was the son of Oliver David Hardy and Olive Maxine Hardy. Tommy was a man who had a lot of different talents. People who knew Tommy knew he loved being an EMT. He was employed at Agnew Ambulance Service for several years. He was a member of and went on to work at Centercrest Baptist Church as building superintendent where he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne Hardy; three children, Donya Capps (Jason), Shawn Hardy, and Callie Bragg; grandchildren, David, Brittany (Jonathan), Michael, Brandon, Austin (Heather), Maisie (Tyler), and Harleigh (Dustin); great grandchildren, Luke, Adelyn, Rhian, Grayson, and Jaxson; one sister, Mae-Ann Anderson (Thomas); and a host of nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
Tommy was preceded in death by his two sons, Dana L. Hardy and Oliver Thomas Hardy, Jr.; one grandson, Daniel Hardy; his parents, Oliver David Hardy and Olive Maxine Hardy; and two daughters-in-law, Patty Hardy and Kathy Hardy.
He loved his family. He loved to watch westerns and loved his guns. His family has so many fond memories of him and will miss him everyday.
Visitation will be Monday, October 4, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Jerry Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
