Nelda Acton Goodwin

Nelda Acton Goodwin fell asleep on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at age 87.  She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Julie Horsley; grandchildren, Misty Goodwin, Edina Morales (Freddy) and Patrick Horsley (Shannon); great grandchildren, Gabriel, Devon, Alaina, and Caleb.  Nelda was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Goodwin; parents, Jesse Acton, Margaret Acton Pennington, and Paul Pennington; two step brothers, Richard and Bobby Pennington; and one step sister, Paula Pennington Mason.  Nelda graduated Tarrant High School 1952.  She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield, City of Fultondale, and retired from Bellsouth in December 1995 with 25 years of service.  She was a member of Fultondale Church of Christ where she taught Sunday morning Bible class to 4th, 5th, and 6th grades for 46 years.  Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow weather permitting in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
