Linda (Layne) Walker Wells

Linda Layne Walker Wells gained her angel wings on August 12, 2024. She was 75 years young.
 


Linda’s life would seem too short by many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quality of time she stayed here.



Linda graduated from Phillips High School in 1966. She was talented in many ways and would always be known for her sweet and caring manner. She had a flair for beauty and fashion, she was an excellent chef and she always carried an extreme love for her children.


She is survived by her husband, David Wells; her children, Kirk Walker (Dari), Whitney Walker, Layne Walker (Sonya), and Doree Nelson (Tony); stepchildren, Pamela Groover (Dave), and Angie Stutts (Chad); grandchildren, Amanda Absher (Charlie), DK Walker (Amanda), Gavin Walker, and Presley Walker; step-grandchildren, Anna Groover, Thomas Groover, Sam Stutts, and Avery Stutts; and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.


Our hearts are so broken by the unexpected loss. May she spread her angel wings wide and know she will be greatly missed by those she touched.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home in Fultondale, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
