Mrs. Lena F. Self Richardson “Mawmaw” of Tarrant, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Richardson, born in Fayette, Alabama, was preceded in death by her husband; Charles E. Richardson Sr.
She is survived by four children, Corina Johnson, Charlotte Wardrup (Ray), Charles E. “Bud” Richardson Jr. (Beverly), and Mary Frances Phillips (Gary), four grandchildren; Leann Crawford (Baron), Charlena Townsend (Scott), Charles E. Richardson III (Susan) and Chris Phillips (Daniele) and eight great -grandchildren; Corinne, Xander, Knox, Sidney Cate, Callista, Amberlyn, Addie, and Emma, and her best friend and companion; Mary Seale, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of Plainview Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her church family even if she had to “push” her walker to get there. Lena will be remembered most for her very versatile and rounded talents. As the owner of a ceramic shop for over twenty years, Lena perfected her love for crafts, art, painting, and quilting, and truly enjoyed sharing her skills with others at the local senior citizens centers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Richardson will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with visitation starting at 11:30. Interment will follow in Walker Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Ronald Foshee and Dr. Hugh Richardson Jr. officiating.
