Lavona Melvin Nixon

Lavona Nixon went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at age 80.  She is survived by one daughter, Jada Johnson (Barry); stepson, Henry Nixon (Karen); three grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Dakota Johnson, and Ryan Nixon; and several great grandchildren; four nieces, Sandra, Kim, Michaelynn and Angie; sister-in-law, Kay Melvin; and other extended family and friends.  Lavona was preceded in death by her husband, James Nixon; her parents, Jordan and Mary Dean Melvin; and two brothers, Onas and Michael Melvin.  She was a hairdresser on the Crestline area for almost 60 years.  She was a member of Maple Street Baptist Church.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinson.
