Kimberly Dawn Mahaffey

Kim Mahaffey passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at age 50.  She is survived by one daughter, Brooklynn Mahaffey (Matthew Carder); two grandchildren, Emalynn Sheffield and Tanner Sheffield; mother, Marie Slatton Bell; two brothers, Ronnie Slatton (Susie) and Paul McCurry (Tina); one sister, Shelly Martin (Dakota Buse); nephews and nieces, B.J. Slatton, Mandy Slatton, and Justin Martin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends.  Kim was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Mahaffey and her father, Robert “Booty” Bell. She loved football and was a die hard Auburn fan. She loved NASCAR racing and had lots of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. memorabilia and her birthday celebration each year included a trip to the races.  Above everything else, her grandchildren were her life.  She loved them with her whole heart and lived for them.  The family will celebrate Kim’s life at Church of the Highlands Fultondale Campus on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
