Kenneth Lane Shotts

Kenneth Lane Shotts, age 68, of Shottsville, passed away on July 17, 2024. Ken was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 17, 1956, the son of the late Rev. Lee Vaughn and Dorothy Imogene Shotts.

Ken was a retired math instructor and journeyman at Sheetmetal Local 80 in Detroit, Michigan. He enjoyed the outdoors, playing music and teaching others. He attended Shottsville Community Church until his health began to fail.  Ken loved his family and above all he loved the Lord.   

He is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle Lane Beste  (Phillip Micheal Beste); 3 loving grandchildren, AJ., Ashley, and Richard; siblings, Harold, Steven, Dela and Timothy as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. Ken also leaves behind his fiancée, Jody who cared for him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Lee Vaughn and Dorothy Imogene Shotts, his grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held at Shottsville Community Church, 3950 County Hwy 56, Vina, AL 35593 on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Upshur of Detroit, MI officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
