Katherine Sue Mayfield

Katherine Sue Mayfield passed away peacefully at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham on February 2, 2025 following an extended illness.

Kathy was born June 2, 1955 to Mary Jane Tyler Moore in Indiana. She married Steven Mayfield in November of 1973. They had two children and enjoyed a 50 year marriage before his passing in July of 2024. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to George Strait, and watching John Wayne movies and Notre Dame football.

Survivors include her children, son William (Shanna) Mayfield and daughter Linna (Jeff) McCord; grandchildren Clayton Mayfield, Jake Mayfield, Kellsey Mayfield, Raina (Zach) Austin, Irelyn (Levi Chumley)  Henderson, Sariah Henderson, Karys Henderson, and Emma McCord; great-grandchildren Ezekiel James Austin and Parker Ruth Austin; and brother Dennis Lane.

Services will be held at Walker Chapel Funeral Home in Fultondale, AL on March 2, 2025. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m.
