Katherine Stanford Giles

Katherine “Kate” Giles passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at age 31.  She is survived by her husband, Stephen Giles; son, Michael Robert Giles; parents, Bob and Melba Stanford; three aunts, Leigh, Mary Anne, and Geraldine; parents-in-law, Richard and Karon Giles; and other extended family and friends.  Kate was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carolyn Thornton.  She was a Samford University graduate with a Masters degree in Education.  She had a love for animals and rescued many of them.  She was an accomplished tennis player and also shared a love of Auburn football with her husband.  Most of all, she loved her beautiful “Mikey”.  Private family services will be held.
