Karen Elizabeth Mitchell Murchie, age 62, of Center Point, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025.
Born on June 10, 1963, Karen lived a life full of compassion, strength, and heart. Known for her vibrant personality and love of life, she especially cherished the music and memories of her favorite era—the 1990s. She could often be found enjoying live music whenever she could.
Beyond her love for music, Karen’s true passion was helping others. She devoted many years of her life and her home to supporting troubled teens through the Kare-N-Home where she provided guidance and support to countless young lives. Her caring spirit left a lasting mark on everyone she helped and loved.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Chalmer and Tommie, and her chosen son, Ben Tidmore. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward Murchie; daughter, Elizabeth Herring; son, Matthew Mosley; and cherished grandson, Stuart Herring. She also leaves behind her sister, Penny Pitts; uncle, Ralph (Ann) Cole; cousin, Wayne (Rhonda) Cole; and chosen daughters, Aimee Wainman and Lara Frost.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Cemetery.
Karen’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
