Joseph Stephen Barker

Joseph Stephen Barker passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at age 34.  He is survived by his mother, Pamela Flanagan; children, Grace and Joseph Barker; brother, Jeffrey Barker; sisters, Brittany Barker, Emily Gallups (Channing) and Jessica Brown (Adam); nieces and nephews, Karmalya, Landon, Jayce, Max, Mary, A.R., and Audrina; grandfather, James Gary Flanagan; uncles, Byron Sherrod and Sterling Sparks; aunts, Darla Collins (Mike) and Mary Clara Sparks; fiancé, Crystal Lewis; and the mother of his children, Michelle Barker; and other extended family and friends.  Joey was preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Stephen Barker and his grandmother, Pamela Jane Sherrod.  Joey was a very talented handyman and artist.  He had a contagious laughter.  If he were laughing you couldn’t help but laugh just because he was laughing.  He always wanted to put his family first and even though his situation might not allow him to do what he wanted, he loved his kids more than anything.  He was the class clown but also had a great work ethic.  Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Friendship Community Church Cemetery.
