Joan Delain (Goodwin) Whitlow

Joan Delain Goodwin Whitlow December 29, 1944 – August 27, 2025

Joan Whitlow, age 80, of Jasper, Alabama, entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Joan was born on December 29, 1944, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Oscar and Edith Goodwin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edgar Whitlow; children, Ricky Whitlow, Eddie Whitlow (Lorrie), Mary Gosa, Vince Whitlow, and Shane Whitlow (Andrea); grandchildren, Tiffany Flemming (Kareem), Laina Gosa, and Rebecca MacFadden; great grandchildren, Trace, Kaegan, Londyn, Crew, Rowyn, and Lynli Ryan; and sisters, Jane Davis and Nina Goodwin, .

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Edith Goodwin, and in-laws, Hubert and Gracie Lee Whitlow, as well as her siblings, Margaret Griffith, Ann Wilson, Warren Goodwin, Phillip Goodwin, Russell Goodwin, Lecil Goodwin, and Laverne Goodwin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 2427 Corner Rd., Warrior, AL 35180.
