Geraldine “Gerry” Gillespie Brown

Geraldine "Gerry" Gillespie Brown, 94, of Fultondale peacefully entered heaven on November 22. Geraldine is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, Thomas C. Brown, her parents Walter and Edna Gillespie, and brother Walter Gillespie, Jr. She is survived by her children Thomas C. Brown Jr. of Fultondale and Janice Pennington (Jimmy) of Fultondale; her grandchildren, Heather Nowak (Nate) of Homewood, Brett Pennington (Hannah) of Morris and Heather Pennington of Jacksonville, FL; and five great-grandchildren Silas and Ryder Nowak, Sadie and Carson Pennington, and Lincoln Goolsby.

Geraldine was born on March 10, 1929, and raised in Coalburg, AL. She graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School as salutatorian in 1946. She married in 1951. She faithfully attended Fultondale First Baptist for over 35 years where she was a long-time Sunday school teacher. She worked over 60 years for Boothby Realty, Inc. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family and friends, her faith, and generosity.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
