Everett Ray “ERN” Hallmark went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at age 87. He is survived by three children, Lisa Ray (Allen), Chip Hallmark (Wendy), and Chris Hallmark (Michelle); eight grandchildren, Jackson Ray (Tina), Jonathan Ray (Kim), David Hallmark (Jessica), Devon Hallmark (Blair), Christopher Hallmark (Alaina), Derek Hallmark (Kelsey), Hunter Hallmark (Abbey), and Becca Hallmark; great-grandchildren, Mason Ray, Myla Hallmark, Nolan Hallmark, Vicki Ray, Bailey Hallmark, Will Ray, Rivers Hallmark, Parker Ray, Tessa Hallmark, Riley Hallmark, Lynley Hallmark, Reagan Hallmark, and Evelyn Hallmark; sister-in-law, Betty Hallmark; brother-in-law, HY Beasley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends. Everett was preceded in death by his spouse, Sherry Hallmark; parents, Clyde and Zola Hallmark; brothers, Kenneth and Roger Hallmark; and sister, Kathy Hallmark. He was a retired Birmingham Firefighter and later went on to retire from System Controls. He was a member of Church of the Highlands Fultondale Campus. Ray was loved and respected by all his family and friends. Visitation will take place at Walker Chapel Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church of the Highlands Fultondale Campus.
