Eva Lois Brown

Eva Lois Brown, age 61, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2023.  She is survived by eight children, Jerry Payton, Jr. (Nicole), Janie Collard, Leigh Ann Hill (Michael), Katelyn Brown (Cliff Underwood), Chris Dove (Mykle), Charles Payton (Zanna), Jerry DeWayne Payton, and Ronnie Payton (Jessica);  eleven grandchildren, Cameron, Damion, Mason, Gauge, Ayden, Jamari, Ava, Harmony, Johnny, Karter, and Layla and one grandson, expected March 6th, Grayson; three great grandchildren, Kylie, Faith, and Rafe; and other extended family friends. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Payton, Sr.; and her parents, William and Edna Sargent. Eva managed Gardendale Subway for many years before going to work at The New Gardendale Funeral Home and Waffle House.  Eva was a common sight in customer service around Gardendale and was a friendly face loved by so many.  She was heavily involved in Prison Fellowship for many years.  She will be missed by her family and friends daily.  Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Cluster Springs Cemetery.
