Edward Morgan Obituary

Edward Thomas “Ed” Morgan, age 93, of Morris, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born and raised in Alabama, Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and later built a long and dedicated career as a steel worker. He was known for his strong work ethic, humble spirit, and quiet devotion to those he loved.

Ed’s life was rich with simple joys and meaningful memories. He loved spending time outdoors and found great happiness in camping trips, fishing by the water, and walking along the beach. Whether he was casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or enjoying the peace of nature, those were the moments he treasured most. Ed also had a passion for gardening, and his home was always surrounded by the vibrant flowers and vegetables he proudly grew with care. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends, along with the wisdom and stories that came with them.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Edward Morgan. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Judy Morgan; granddaughters Kelly Snow (Daniel) and Shelly Pannel (Keith); and three cherished great-grandchildren, Cole Henderson, Emma Pannel, and Atley Pannel, all of Trussville, Alabama. He also leaves behind his sister, Evelyn Hamons of Morris, Alabama; his brother, Howard Morgan (Charelene) of Carbon Hill, Alabama; and many beloved nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his devoted caregivers, Leslie Link and Rhonda Nall, for their loving care and support.

Brother Sammie Reid will officiate the services. Visitation will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., with interment immediately afterward at Walker Chapel Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

Ed will be remembered for his warm heart, steady faith, and love of family. He lived a life filled with hard work, laughter, and the beauty of the outdoors—a life well lived and a legacy that will continue in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
