Doris Evelyn Adkins Little (fondly known as DotDot), age 93, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2025. She passed 46 years to the day of her beloved husband. Dot was born on November 12th, 1931, to the late Noble Adkins and Lillian Hogan Adkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Paul Little; son, Paul Sidney Little; and siblings, Cathryn Adkins, Myra Adkins Faulk, Gwendolyn Adkins Little, and John Adkins.
Dot leaves behind daughter Linda Hall (Bruce); grandchildren, Matthew Hall (Lauren) and Jeremy Hall; great-grandchildren, Diesel, Jackson, and Barrett Hall; brother, Sidney Adkins; sister-in-law, Betty Adkins, and several nieces and nephews.
As a teenager Dot was employed as a sales clerk at S.H. Kress Five and Ten Cent Store when she met her husband. Dot was the owner of City Ice Company in Bessemer, Alabama. She was a member, and avid attendee, for both Sunday School and worship services at Walker's Chapel Baptist Church. Dot loved the Lord and she loved her church family. Dot loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Doug Alford for the many years of care he provided for Dot. The family would also like to thank her hospice nurse, Cindy, for the care provided in her final days.
Dot will be greatly missed, but her family and friends take comfort in knowing she met Jesus face to face on January 28th, 2025.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
