Concetta McCombs, affectionately known as “Tootoo” to her family and friends, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at age 80. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Leonard B. McCombs; children, Jeff Williams and Paulette Williams; five grandchildren, Westin Newburn (Janey), Jordan McCranie (Chris), Alex Williams, Isabella Palmieri, and Autumn Priest; eight great grandchildren, Kayden, Ty, Noah, Ryder, Leo, Lucas, Mia Concetta, and Sariyah; sister, Kathy Robinson (Dennis); nephew, Kevin Mosier; sister-in-law, Shelba Brooks; and other extended family and friends. Concetta was preceded in death by her son, Barry Williams; granddaughter, Bragan Williams; parents, Jimmie and Mildred Caldarella; brother, Michael Caldarella; and sister-in-law, Frances Burnham. She was beautiful and at only 4’10”, she was a force to be reckoned with fully showing her Italian heritage. She loved her birds. She was an extraordinary cook and and loved to decorate. It was not uncommon for her house to rival those in Southern Living magazine. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to the beach. There is no way to capture her spirit in such a few words but she certainly will leave a void that won’t be filled. She was loving to her husband and family in every way. There will be a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024 with the funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside will be at Elmwood Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make donations to: Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center at 1321 19th St S Birmingham, AL 35205, 205-838-6159.
