Chres Thomas Sorensen

Chres Thomas Sorensen, Sr., born September 6, 1941, was a dedicated husband of 52 years, a loving father and a beloved friend.  He honorably served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War as a demolition technician.  He supported his family working in the grocery industry for over 40 years.  He loved his family, his Country, fishing, small engine repair, and playing with his grandchildren.  Chres is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sorensen; children: Miranda Underwood (Brandon), Jason Sorensen (Rena), LaTricia Smith (Joseph), Christie Thach (Kerry), Chres Sorensen, Jr (Donna), Kim Wakle (Al), and Monica Wells (Guy); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father, Sander Norman Sorensen, Sr.; mother, Nettie "Nanny" Sorensen; sisters, Arita "Rita" Owens, Mattie "ReRe" Pike, and Amelia "Mickey" Robbins; and one brother, Sander "Sonny" Sorensen, Jr.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens with Marine Corps Military Honors.
