Charlotte S. Reach

Charlotte S. Reach went to see Jesus on Friday, July 22, 2022 and is now free of pain.  She is survived by her husband, James Reach; two daughters, Sherry Raspa (Paul) and Deedee Lovell (Mark); four grandchildren, Michael John McKinney (Haley), Jana Beth Lovell, Rileigh Ann Raspa, and MaryElla Lovell; one great grandson, Keegan McKinney; three siblings, Rebecca Deaver (Nelson), Dr. Debbie Browne (Ken), and Grady L. Sewell, Jr. (Lisa); two stepchildren Shara Harbin and Brett Reach, and nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.  Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Lamar Sewell, Sr. and Ann Sewell.  She retired from banking after many years of service in the Gardendale and surrounding areas.  Charlotte served on the board for the Gardendale Chamber of Commerce and was a member of both the Gardendale Rotary Club and the Gardendale JayCees.  She also was active in Relay for Life and was proud of her service in the Gardendale Miracle League.  Charlotte enjoyed her time serving along side her husband as Mrs. Claus and he will miss his partner.  She could make barbecue sauce from scratch like none other and the secret recipe will go to her grave.  There are so many things about Charlotte that all of us will miss.  She touched so many lives.  Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home with the service to follow at 11:30 in the chapel of the funeral home.  Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.  The family requests guests wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Desperation Church desperationchurch.tv
