Charles Neal Hicks

Charles “Charlie” Neal Hicks passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at age 88.  He is survived by three children, Ricky Neal Hicks (Diane), Terri Hicks Spears (Ricky) and John M. Hicks (Sissy); stepson, Bill Mewbourne (Karen); grandchildren, Drew D. Hicks (Andi), Johnathan Hicks (Rebecca), Jordan Hicks, Jameson Hicks (Courtney), Shane Spears (Brittney), and Brandon Spears (Jana); great grandchildren, Riley, Andrew, Jackson, Paxton, Oaklynn, Cayden, Cason and Lily; and many other extended family members and friends.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents John and Nokel Hicks; one granddaughter, Ali Hicks Williams; and four siblings. He was a retired Teamster after over 40 years of over the road and local driving.  He attended Gardendale First Baptist Church.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.  Visitation will be Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
