Carolyn Sue (Finchum) Gooch

Carolyn Sue Gooch passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at age 72.  Carolyn was preceded by her loving husband of 56 years, Melvin Darryl Gooch; her parents, Walter Lee Finchum and Virginia Lee Shields Wood; stepdad, Calvin Wood; and brother Phillip Wayne Finchum.  She is survived by four children, Vickie Shires, Michele Blakey (Joseph), Wayne Gooch, and Brian Gooch; nine grandchildren, Jenny Burttram (Adam), Heather Weeks (Blake), Brandy Hopkins (Nathan), Lindsay Blakey, Adam Gooch (Danielle), Jeremy Shires (Natalie), Lauren Alford (Seth), Jeffrey Shires, and Abby Mayfield (Trent); four great-grandchildren, Kynslee, Sophie, Emma, and Addy; and other extended family and friends. Carolyn was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow 1:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
