C. J. Shaver, Jr.

C. J. Shaver, Jr. is now where he longed to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He left this walk of life on Monday, January 30, 2023.  He is survived by his wife, Margaret Shaver and her loving family; one daughter, Denise Tesseneer (Danny); one son, Charles “Chuck” Shaver (Sharon); five grandchildren,  Danielle Cater (Chuck), Angie Bush (Jason), Daniel Tesseneer (Maria), Nicole Burton (Clint) and Caleb Shaver (Jeri); fourteen great great-grandchildren; sister, Rosie Pennington; brother, Lonnie Shaver; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.  C. J. was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Shaver; his parents, Charlie Jackson and Ophelia Shaver; brother-in-law, Travis Pennington; and sister-in-law, Linda Shaver.  C. J. pastored and was assistant pastor of several churches in Central Alabama.  He had a genuine love for his family and friends but his greatest love and devotion was to his Lord.  He brought a light into this world that is not often seen and he was the embodiment of the life we are supposed to live as a Christian.  There is no way to sum up the impact Mr. C. J. Shaver has left on the lives he has come in contact with.  His legacy is immeasurable.  Visitation will be February 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be at the church on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
