Boyd Wayne Thacker

Boyd Wayne Thacker passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at age 90.  He is survived by his son, Terry Thacker (Susan); one grandson, Austyn Thacker; one granddaughter, Jackie Jeter; two great grandchildren, Damian Jeter and Vera Jeter; and other extended family and friends.  Wayne was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Barbara Thacker; his daughter, Vicki Russell; his parents, Howard and Evelyn Thacker; two brothers, Norman Thacker and Ralph Thacker; and one sister, Sue Bracken.  He proudly served his country in the Air National Guard.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 255.  He retired from Sloss Industries as Millwright after 33 years of service.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Walker Chapel Cemetery.
