Billy Moore Obituary

Billy Gene Moore graduated to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at age 91.  He is now reunited with his lovely wife of 70 years, Margaret Grace Moore.  He is also preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Maude Moore; one brother, Robert (Eula) Moore; one sister, Betty (Cletus) Wargel and one brother-in-law, Gordon Smith.  Billy is survived by three sons, Phillip (Kathy) Moore, Richard (Cindy Tompkins) Moore, and William (Kimberly) Moore; eleven grandchildren, Brenda (Raymond) Earley, Brian (Jennifer Plyman) Moore, Bridget (Christopher) Lenoir, Rachel Moore, Elizabeth (Tommy) Horton, Zachary (Courtney May) Moore, Andrew Moore, Joshua Moore, Elizabeth Harrison, Brooklynn Harrison, and Leighton McAnally; one sister, Mary Smith; and a host of extended family and friends.  Billy was a member of Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle.  He was a loving father and a great example to his children.  He had a servant’s heart. Billy’s verse of promise he held on to was 1 John 2:25 “And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.”  Visitation will be Friday, August, 13, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  at Walker Chapel Funeral Home.  A graveside will be Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Colbert Family Cemetery in Saline County, IL.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle Missions.
