Betty Holt Keith

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Betty “Daffy” Holt Keith. She left
this earthly world on August 5, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She was 73
years young.
To know Daffy was to love her. She had an energetic personality and loved more than
anything to help others. She was a fabulous southern cook that cooked for days on end for all
holidays and special occasions.
Ms. Keith is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Jean Boren; parents, Tommy
and Odessa Holt; brothers, Thomas, Dennis and Dale Holt; sister, Faye Holt Hall; and sister-in-law, Paulette Holt.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Nicole Honeycutt (the absolute love of her life);
sister, Doris Kelley; sisters-in-law, Pam Holt and Gayla Terry; nieces and nephews, Regina Richardson (Ronald), Brenda Willingham
(Ricky), Linda Vandiver (Greg), Laura Wiseman, Dave Holt (Brandy), Paula Holt, Amy Praseut
(Guy), Thomas Patrick Holt (Janice), Candance Wilson (Chris), Sabrina Hamley (Jeremy),
Delissa Holt, Willie Holt (Miranda), Waylon Holt (Melanie); 17 great nieces and nephews: 12
great-great nieces and nephews that she beyond adored; and her partner, Michael DeRossett.
She was especially close with her great-great nephew Jaxon. She called him “Her Little
Buddy”.
Condolences can be sent to 3203 Pineville Court, Jasper, Alabama 35503, addressed to
Nicole Honeycutt.
Due to the amount of people who loved Daffy, Legion Field would need to be rented in
order to celebrate her. The family will hold a private service for Daffy. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests that if you would like to make a donation, please donate in Daffy’s memory to
The Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, Alabama.
