Bayani “Ben” Cortez Labrador

Bayani “Ben” Labrador passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at age 77.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Tessie Labrador; three children, Jon Labrador (Melissa), Maria Labrador, and Edward Labrador (Diana); seven grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Elvin, Cassandra, Jonathan, Emma, and Ian; three sisters, Asunción Cupcupin, Lydia Guillen, and Marina Simeon; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.  Ben graduated from the University of the East in the Philippines with a degree in Accounting and went on to earn his CPA designation.  This afforded him the opportunity to work many years with Warner Communications and New York University in the U.S. He enjoyed fishing and bowling but his true passion in life was his grandchildren; so much so, that he retired early to move down South to be with them.  He also adored his three special nephews Norman, Alvin and Roderick who he visited often before he moved.  There is no way to describe how much Ben will be missed by his family.  The family will receive friends at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Gardendale on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service to follow.
