Arthur Allen “Al” Jerkins

Arthur Allen “Al” Jerkins of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on October 1, 2021.  He was 75 years old.  Al was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur C. and Jennie Jerkins; his son, Jeff Jerkins; and his sisters, Doris Owens and Marie Bush.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Sandy Jerkins; his children, Jami (Phillip) Gurganus, Bobby (Tancy) Bullard, and Allen (Kim) Jerkins; grandchildren, Brittaney (Jimmy) Cole, Cassie (Ricky) Hoeft, Brandon (Kayle) Meadows, Brandi (Aidan) Robb, Bailey Bullard, Morgan Jerkins, Justin Gurganus, Brayden Jerkins, and Mason Gurganus; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lilly Helms Kee (Daffin) and Dorothy Jernigan.  Visitation will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Walker Chapel Funeral Home, 1200 Ellard Road, Fultondale, AL 35068.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.  Pastor Donnie Sanders will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Bobby Bullard, Phillip Gurganus, Brandon Meadows, Justin Gurganus, Jimmy Cole, and Aidan Robb.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brayden Jerkins and Mason Gurganus.
