Mr. Robert "Woody" Woods, age 76, of Shelby Shores, passed away on Monday, February 18th, 2019. Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-five years; Sharon Woods, his parents; Andrew and Edith Woods, one brother; Newman Woods, and one sister; Peggy Woods.
Woody is survived by his daughter; Tammy Scroggins (Buddy), three grandsons; Joshua (Elisa), Jarrid, and Robby Scroggins, two great-grandchildren; Lucas and Blakely, sister in law; Mildred Woods, and three nieces; Connie, Diane, and Debbie, as well as a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Woods will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving father and grandfather who always put his family first and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. After spending time stationed in Kodiak Alaska, with the U.S. Navy, Woody married, and began a career with the ABC Board, where he also served as a member of the protection detail for former Governor Guy Hunt. Mr. Woods moved to Shelby Shores after retirement from law enforcement to spend his time in what he referred to as "paradise".
Funeral Services for Mr. Woods will be held in the Chapel at Walker Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21st, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with a family visitation beginning at 12:30. Interment will immediately follow in Walker Chapel Cemetery.
