Janie G. Strickland

Janie was an active member of Walker Chapel Baptist Church and a booster club member of Fultondale  High School for many years. Mrs. Strickland retired from Avadian Credit Union as the office manager for many years and was also the secretary for Hurst’s Towing. Janie loved her Savior Jesus Christ, her family, traveling, several clubs, Elvis, and NASCAR. 
Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, William McKinley Strickland Jr., parents; John Uley and Dorothy Gober; 3 brothers, John, Randy, and Glen Gober. She is survived by 1 son, William McKinley Strickland III of Fultondale; 2 grandsons, William Mickinly Strickland IV of Trussville, and James Michael Strickland of Clay, AL; 2 sisters, Dorothy Goodwin of Springville and Lola (Harold) Adair of Fultondale, AL as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. 
Sincere appreciation goes to the Bruno Cancer Center, Alacare Hospice and a special thanks to the loving assistance of James Gable, Brenda Howell, Alton King, Jessica Zahorscak, and Tempie Koenig.
Visitation will be at Walker Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8th, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be in the chapel on Friday, June 9th, 2017 at 2:00 with burial to follow in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens.
