Dorothy Lee (Fowler) Mattox

Dorothy Lee Fowler Mattox went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Dot was born on September 16, 1929 in Winfield, Alabama to Caesar and Annie Fowler. She was a member of Walker Chapel Methodist Church for many years and worked for Gillespie Day Care. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Mattox was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Mattox; son, Gary Mattox; parents, Caesar and Annie Fowler; sister, Betty Ann Ressler; brothers in law, Charles Mattox, Jim Mattox, and Curtis Franks.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sherie Mattox; grandchildren, Lee Mattox, Mark (Virginia) Mattox, and Michael Mattox; sisters, Grace (Gene) Pickard and Doris Franks, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Walker Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2:00 with visitation beginning one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Walker Chapel Memorial Gardens. Walker Chapel Funeral Home directing.
